Ana Banana Is Here!
Yea! Ana, our new au pair, arrived Friday from Brazil! Dylan is such a lucky little boy- I think we have the best au pair in the world!! Ana is wonderful with Dylan and he just loves her! I go back to work on Monday which is going to be so hard, but I feel so good about leaving him with Ana. I know she will take great care of him!

Mothers Day Weekend
Yea! My first Mother’s Day! I’ve been looking forward to this for as long as I can remember!!
The weekend started off great. I met my friend Dorota and her baby Matteus at the outlets on Friday. We sat outside and enjoyed a Starbucks, chatted about all things “baby”, caught up on mommy stuff and even shopped a little. It was great! The boys were fabulous!
Saturday was great too. Dustin and I had a nice relaxing day at the house and then our friends Chris and Kimberly came over for dinner and game night. Kimberly made the most amazing enchiladas- seriously heaven in my mouth. Dustin won the board game and thank goodness for that because last time he didn’t take losing so well. Two things he is crazy competitive about- Jeopardy and board games. I love playing with Chris and Kimberly because they really give him a run for his money at both (unlike me who just plays for fun).
Now Sunday… the day was finally here! Mothers Day!!! I had pictures in my head about how great this day was going to be... how it turned out wasn’t exactly how I pictured. I woke up Sunday morning with boulders for boobs. I guess I accidentally turned off my 3:00 alarm to pump. Sure I had gotten 7 hours of sleep, but at a painful cost (this is just one of the joys of breastfeeding if you don’t “get it out” every 3-4 hours). So in agonizing boob pain, I stubble downstairs to find the sweetest scene- Dustin and Dylan are sleeping on the sofa. So cute! (Doesn't it look like Dylan is trying to nurse on Dustin? Better watch those nipples buddy!)
Little did I know that would be the last time Dylan would have his eyes closed for the next 12 hours! Usually Dylan is a fabulous baby- takes long naps and is “ok” not being held 24/7. Well Sunday must have been opposite day. He refused to take a nap and would scream anytime you put him down- I think he had really bad gas all day. My boobs were still in a lot of pain (usually takes several hours for them to go back to normal) so holding him hurt my chest. Thank goodness it was a Sunday and Dustin was home to help. We took turns holding, changing diapers, and feeding. It was one of those non-stop days where you literally don’t get a break. Exhausting. Days like this are the reason we have Mothers Day and Fathers Day- kids are a lot of work!!!
The highlight of the day was the Mothers Day card from Dustin. It read “wonderful mother, beautiful wife, precious friend, love of my life- you are my everything”. It was everything I’d ever wanted be, and now I have it all. Wow! Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it! :-) Dustin also got me beautiful flowers and made a fabulous brunch. I’m a very lucky girl, even on those days where things don't go exactly as planned.

Anniversary
Dustin and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary yesterday! Wow- I can't believe it's been 4 years!!
We originally planned to have a nice date night out and Dustin's parents were going to babysit. However, Diane was still getting over walking pneumonia (the whole family has been hit so hard this year with sickness) so we decided to celebrate at home. Welcome to parenthood!!
Dustin made the most amazing dinner though!! It was exactly what I would have ordered if we had gone to to a "real" restaurant! For an appetizer we had lobster bisque and the main course was ahi, asperagus, and rice. Everything turned out fabulous!! Dustin drove all over town to get the best ingredients and made everything from scratch! Who knew he was such a chef!!! Dylan even took a nice long nap so mommy and daddy could have a nice "grown up" dinner in the dining room.
One of the best anniversaries ever. Thank you sweetie. I love you!!!

2 Month Check-Up
We had Dylan's 2-month check-up today and it went great! Here is how he's measuring up:
Height: 23 inches (50%)
Weight: 10 lbs 7 oz (18%)
Head: 40.5 cm (51%)
He's eating like CRAZY (25-30 oz/day), but still a little on the light side... definitely got the skinny gene! Developmental milestones: Smiling, holding head up, cooing, kicking, following objects, sucking thumb... everything he's supposed to be doing, he is! Yea!!
Dylan also got all of his 2-month vaccinations today. He did great!! The nurse was so quick- in less than 2 seconds she had all three shots in and out. He cried for about 2 seconds, latched on, breastfed for 5 minutes, and then fell fast asleep. He's a real trooper! I guess after everything he went through in the hospital a few weeks ago, a few shots are a walk in the park!
